What is the DiverseCity Fellows program?
DiverseCity Fellows is a one-year action-oriented fellowship program for 27 rising city-builders who are deeply committed to developing themselves into better leaders and working across sectors on issues that are critical to the future health and wealth of the Toronto region.
The DiverseCity Fellows program takes a learning-by-doing approach. By connecting and supporting rising city-builders today, the program aims to:
-
Create a civic leadership that reflects the diversity of the Toronto region;
-
Advance the strategic capacity of city-building leaders as they strive to effect positive change, and;
-
Develop a new kind of leadership, one that values diverse perspectives and operates across sectors.
Over the course of a year, Fellows participate in innovative and provocative workshops on leadership development, diversity, and civic awareness. DiverseCity Fellows connects rising leaders to influencers and decision-makers across the GTA. The program culminates with the design and implementation of city-building action projects that Fellows develop with partner institutions.
DiverseCity Fellows 2010 will run from January-December 2010 and includes one overnight retreat, ten full-day sessions, plus independent development of a city-building project.
